I dont believe inn trapping an adult skunk. They are wild and free and dont belong in a cage. They need to live as god intented them to live. Animals are not toys, they have feelings. Skunks have theire young in may and can get agressive, if theire young are threatend. It is much more humane to leave them be. Get a dog or a cat.

Your neighbur is a real piece of work. I could not be the one living next door to her. There would be a war.
Please be absolutely certain that this Skunk does NOT have a nest nearby, perhaps even under your house! You do not want to end up starving any Kits to death...they do not deserve that!Try getting a pest control expert or observe the behaviours and even follow it to find its' nest! Please do this...once Mama is caught, the Kits will be an easy grab...dependent on location!Kits also aren't mature enough to spray but they do smell a bit funky due to Mother!Be careful and cover the cage with a towel for the animals' comfort.Use a separate cage for any Kits as you don't want to chance losing Mother by trying to place Kits in the same cage.Peace.

While I have no idea why you are trapping one 2 things: 1st make it a live trap and live release 2nd I highly recommend that you wear long pants, long sleaves, gloves, a hat, and goggles...prepare to trash these clothes after release. Skunks do not like to be trapped and when they are threatened they almost always "spray". Good luck!!!!

Food: Skunks are true omnivorous mammals. They eat at night and will consume insects, rodents, frogs, crayfish, bird eggs and nestlings, plus fruit, berries, and other plants. Skunks will eat nearly anything they can find or catch.
I know from personal experience that skunks like ice cream.
Skunks do not store food, but they will raid the food of others such as weasels.
