Because many nus have to work their way through like in the public.  The large crosses and their wedding rings are a pretty good give away-but more importantly the way the care for their patients, the children they teach sets them apart.  Priests dont always wear their collar when they are off the pulpit.  The clothing makes irt more obvious but alot of people are intimidated by them.  My favorite prist is awesome.  He is serious on the pulpit and when having a serious question but he's one of the 'guys' when we watch football-especially if his favorite team is playing.
