a5 = 48
a17 = 196,608
a32 = ?
Geometric Formula: an = a1*r^n-1
a1 = 1st term
r = common ratio
n = sequence term you're finding
Write two equations using the 5th and 32nd terms from the formula.
Equation 1:
a5 = [ a1*r^5-1 = 48]
a5 = a1*r^4 = 48
Equation 2:
a17 = [ a1*r^17-1 = 196,608 ]
a17 = a1*r^16 = 196,608
Divide equation 2 by equation 1 to find common ratio.
a1*r^16 = 196,608 / a1*r^4 = 48
r^12 = 4096
r = +-2
Find the 1st term using either equation.
a1*r^4 = 48
16a1/16 = 48/16
a1 = 3
Now, find the 32nd term. There will be two answers.
an = a1*r^n-1
a32 = 3*2^32-1
a32 = 3(2)^31
a32 = 3(2,147,483,648)
a32 = 6,442,450,944
a32 = 3*-2^32-1
a32 = 3(-2)^31
a32 = 3(-2,147,483,648)
a32 = -6,442,450,944
Check: an = a1*r^n-1 > common ratio is +-2
a1 = 3
a1 = 3(2)^1-1
a1 = 3(2)^0
a1 = 3(1)
a1 = 3
a1 = 3(-2)^1-1
a1 = 3(-2)^0
a1 = 3(1)
a1 = 3
a5 = 48
a5 = 3(2)^5-1
a5 = 3(2)^4
a5 = 3(16)
a5 = 48
a5 = 3(-2)^5-1
a5 = 3(-2)^4
a5 = 3(16)
a5 = 48
a17 = 196,608
a17 = 3(2)^17-1
a17 = 3(2)^16
a17 = 3(65,536)
a17 = 196,608
a17 = 3(-2)^17-1
a17 = 3(-2)^16
a17 = 3(65,536)
a17 = 196,608

What's wrong with his leg? You said the problem with his leg was healed, then he went away to school only have to come back home two weeks later because of his leg. The problem with his leg could be a serious medical condition and he's not feeling too much like getting in touch. Or, it could be, he do not want to continue dating you.

What is the difference between Bearnaise and Hollandaise?
• While the batter of Hollandaise and bearnaise sauces is the same, there are differences in flavorings.
• Hollandaise makes use of lemon juice while bearnaise sauce has ingredients such as peppercorns, vinegar, and chervil, in addition to the ingredients of Hollandaise that happen to be salt, cayenne, thyme, and shallots.
• Hollandaise is a very old sauce whereas bearnaise is an offshoot of Hollandaise.
• Hollandaise is used with dishes of eggs and vegetables whereas bearnaise is used more often as a condiment with meats and fish recipes.
• Because of the similarities, some call these two sauces as cousins while some refer to bearnaise as a child of Hollandaise.
• Bearnaise is creamier of the two while Hollandaise is thicker of the two sauces.

$90,000 - $15,000 = $75,000
Previous Salary - $75,000
Increase Amount - $15,000
New Salary - $90,000
Percentage Increase: 15/75 = 0.2 > move decimal point two places to the right. Or, multiply 0.2 by 100.
0.2 = 20%

r = records
t = tapes
Two equations:
2r + 3t = $31.00
3r + 2t = $29.00
Eliminate one of the variables and solve for the other.
3(2r + 3t = $31.00)
-2(3r + 2t = $29.00)
6r + 9t = $93.00
-6r - 4t = -$58.00
5t = $35.00
5t/5 = $35.00/5
t = $7.00
Now, solve for r. Put the value of t in either equation.
2r + 3($7.00) = $31.00
2r + $21.00 = $31.00
2r + $21.00 - $21.00 = $31.00 - $21.00
2r = $10.00
2r/2 = $10.00/2
r = $5.00

The additive inverse is when you add (a) + (-a) to get zero. If the original number is negative, then the additive inverse is positive, and vice versa.
18/23 + (-18/23) = 0
Additive inverse of 18/23 is -18/23
