The etudes of Czerny and Chopin, and some compositions of Beethoven have very fast metronome marks. How is it possible to play this, and how does it sound so fast?

These type of composistions are for very gifted and advanced players. Many years of Piano study are required to play them.  Playing these, "fast" is like learning how to "type" , fast...... the more you do it, the more you can. When a player learns these, they learn one hand at a time and then they put them together.  They use a Metronome to help them to go from slow to fast.

Hi. Not into classical music, though I appreciate the music very much, more into old style Beethoven's moonlight sonata but here you can find out how these metronome marks are played. It is a music forum
