Potassium must be carefully monitored for those with renal disease. Your monthly bloodwork will include potassium levels. You may be prescribed a tablet to chew before eating, which is something that will help the potassium pass through your system.
Do NOT take the threat of too much potassium lightly. It is a huge issue for renal patients.

Your nephrologist and dietician will work with you to establish a healthy eating plan. Good wishes to you.
